If you are successful in the preliminary examination, then you can reach the destination by crossing the stage like success in the main examination and performing better in the interview.

Strong preparation for preliminary exam

  • The nature of preliminary examination is of objective type, but it is necessary to have a conceptual understanding. Therefore, without adopting any shortcut, one should prepare it by covering the entire syllabus. The same strategy should be for CSAT paper. Once the basics of maths and regional etc. are understood, any kind of question can be solved.
  • Before reading any topic of both papers, also analyze the questions asked from it, so that it can be known from where and somehow the questions are asked.
  • Always avoid collecting more books. Read less books more often, not more books once.
  • For general studies, you should give the most preference to NCERT books. With this, you will also feel comfortable in the main examination. Do regular study of newspapers and a monthly magazine.
  • Pay attention to more common facts than rare facts, because barely 10-15 questions are based on rare facts.
  • Read each section of general studies, so that if you are weak, solve 30-35 percent questions.
  • Do not take any chance while solving the question paper and do not touch such a question at all, which you do not get the right answer. Keep in mind that negative marking is applicable in this exam, so do not take the risk of giving wrong answers. Take care of time management in the examination hall.
  • Give more emphasis on practicing before the examination, which have been asked in the Civil Services Examination in the last years, solve them as well as if you solve the questions of state services, then there will be benefit.
  • The basic mantra of preliminary examination is practice and practice. While preparing for the preliminary examination, the candidates often emphasize more on the study and keep studying till the last time of the exam. Whereas, it is very important to practice to succeed in this exam. The help of a level practice book can be taken along with the questions of previous years for practice. It would be better to revise the subjects or blocks you feel while practicing.
