Ranchi:
After the completion of elections for the 81-member assembly in Jharkhand, both the BJP-led NDA and the Hemant Soren-led JMM-Congress-RJD alliance have claimed their respective victories. State Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said that his government is returning again, while BJP State President Babulal Marandi said that Hemant Soren’s government has bid farewell and a BJP-NDA government is going to be formed in its place.
Soren claimed in his post, “Old people, youth, workers, women, farmers, everyone gave their unprecedented blessings in this great festival of democracy with enthusiasm and excitement. Everyone, especially half of the population of the state – our ‘mothers’. “JMM has historically given its immense blessings to JMM and India alliance for its rights, honor and respect.”
Expressing his gratitude to the voters of the state, he further wrote, “We firmly pledge that we will realize the sacrifice of the brave martyrs, fulfill the dreams of the great revolutionaries, give concrete shape to the aspirations of the agitators and together we will create a new, golden Jharkhand. On this auspicious occasion, I bow down to every voter, to the conscientious polling personnel, to the dedicated workers of JMM and the alliance, and to the workers of all political parties who have strengthened democracy.”
What did Babulal Marandi say?
On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party state president Babulal Marandi claimed in a press conference that the people of the state have voted overwhelmingly against the misgovernance of the Hemant Soren-led government. For the security of ‘Roti, Beti, Mati’, voters have expressed unwavering faith in BJP and NDA in both the phases. There was tremendous anger among all sections including youth, women and backward classes against the promises of this government and this was equally visible in the voting everywhere. BJP and NDA are going to form the government with victory on more than 51 seats in the state.
Voting for 81 seats of Jharkhand was held in two phases on 13 and 20 November. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
