Adani Group’s Mundra Port made a record, handled 396 ships in November, movement of 845

Mundra Ports, the country’s largest commercial port under Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), an Adani Group company, has made a big record. Adani Ports said that Mundra Port has handled 396 ships till November 2024. The port also handled the movement of 845 ships during this period. This is a big record in itself. Adani Ports said, “This is the biggest achievement in a month in our history. We are striving to create such records in future also.”

Adani Ports is India’s largest private port operator and end-to-end logistics provider. Its 13 ports and terminals represent about 24% of the country’s port capacity. Its capacity is 580 MMTPA.

Mundra Port has rapidly become a major commercial hub and an important gateway to India. This port has evolved from a jetty to a global shipping hub, connecting India to the world. It also ensures the movement of goods to a large part of the interior areas of the country.

Since 1998, this port has contributed more than Rs 2.25 lakh crore to the state and country’s exchequer. Created more than 7.5 crore jobs. Has attracted investment of more than Rs 70 thousand crore.

Mundra Port now handles about 11% of the country’s sea cargo and 33% of container traffic. “The port’s community support initiative through Adani Foundation has reached 61 villages, benefitting more than 3.5 lakh people,” the company said.

On October 9, Mundra Port completed 25 years of operation. A special postage stamp was issued on this occasion. Karan Adani, Managing Director, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd, had then said, “This commemorative stamp represents not only the legacy of Mundra Port, but also our partnership of trust with the people of Gujarat and the supportive policies of the state government Is.”

Released by India Post, the commemorative stamp is titled “25 Years of Progress – Mundra Port”. It also contains a visual description of Mundra Port. The stamp sheet, containing 12 stamps, was designed by India Post in collaboration with APSEZ. Tickets will be available for purchase through the e-portal of India Post.
