On the third day of the special session of the Sixth Assembly of Jharkhand, Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, on behalf of the Hemant Soren government, presented a supplementary budget of Rs 11,697.45 crore for the current financial year 2024-25. In this budget, a provision of Rs 6,390.55 crore has been made for ‘Chief Minister Mainiyan Samman Yojana’.

The maximum amount in the supplementary budget has been allocated for the Women and Child Development Department. A provision of Rs 6,390.55 crore has been made for the ‘Chief Minister Mainiyan Samman Yojana’ run by this department. This scheme has been started from the month of August, under which about 57 lakh women were being given an amount of Rs 1,000 each per month. The government has increased the amount from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500 per month from the month of December.

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar announced this in his address before the presentation of the supplementary budget. In the supplementary budget, Rs 272 crore for School Education Department, Rs 170.15 crore for Road Construction Department, Rs 194.28 crore for Rural Development Department, Rs 445.92 crore for Home, Jail and Disaster Management Department, Rs 2,577.92 crore for Energy Department and Animal Husbandry Department. Rs 250.96 crore has been allocated.

The Speaker announced that this supplementary budget will be discussed in the House on Thursday. In this, one representative from each party will get an opportunity to participate in the debate. With this the House was adjourned till 12 noon on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, the proceedings of the House started with the address of Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar. In his address, the Governor presented the roadmap and development vision of the state government in the House.

The Governor said that 60 thousand teacher posts will be filled. Apart from this, 15 thousand head teachers will be appointed. Announcement of appointment of 10 thousand policemen and employment of 10 thousand language teachers to strengthen regional and tribal languages ​​was also made in the address. According to other important announcements made in the address, a Madrasa Board will be formed in Jharkhand.

Apart from this, self-employment opportunities will be provided to women associated with self-help groups. People will be connected to Abua Health Protection Scheme. The poor will be given 7 kg rice and 2 kg pulses by the government. Under Abua Awas Yojana, beautiful three-room houses will be provided to more than 25 lakh poor families in a phased manner.
