18 people died and many were seriously injured in a stampede at New Delhi railway station on Saturday night. The injured have been admitted to LNJP and Lady Harding Medical College. Most of the people who died in this painful accident are women. Among those who die are 9 women, 4 men and 5 children. These include 9 people from Bihar. At the same time, 8 people from Delhi and one from Haryana are included. The incident occurred around 9.30 pm on Saturday night, when a crowd gathered at the number 14, 15 and 16 platforms. Orders have been ordered to investigate the accident.

Declaration of compensation
A compensation of Rs 10 lakh has been announced to the families of those killed in the accident at New Delhi Railway Station. At the same time, the railway has announced a compensation of Rs 2.5 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 1 lakh to those who were generally injured. In this accident, the condition of many people also deteriorated due to suffocation. A statement was issued by the railway police that the crowd increased so much on some platforms that the situation became uncontrollable.
1,500 general tickets were being sold by the Railways every hour ‘
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) said in an official statement that when the Prayagraj Express train was standing on platform number 14, many people were present there. The official said that the freedom fighter Express and Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express were running late and passengers of these trains were also present at platform numbers 12, 13 and 14. He said, ‘1,500 normal tickets were being sold by the Railways every hour, due to which the crowd increased at the station and the situation became uncontrollable. There was a stampede near the escalator near platform number 14 and platform number 16.
