Bandhani is a type of tie-dai cloth which is popular in Gujarat and Rajasthan. This is a method in which the cloth is tied and dyed by applying lumps. Georgette, Shifan, silk and cotton cloth are tied tightly with a thread before inserting it into a colored pool and when this thread is opened, the tied part becomes colorful. The design is then designed using thread on the cloth by hand.
Multicolored Rajasthani Safa wore in 2023
In the year 2023, Modi wore a multicolored Rajasthani safa with kurtas and churidar pajamas. Later that year, on the 77th Independence Day, he chose a safa of many colors, whose last end (Chhala) was long under the waist.
