Kumbh Mela flights from Chandigarh to Allahabad (Prayagraj) will start from January 13. This will provide the first direct connectivity from Chandigarh to Prayagraj.
There will be direct flight once a week
This flight will run once a week. This flight will depart from Chandigarh every Monday and return to Chandigarh from Prayagraj every Wednesday. The fare for this flight will be between Rs 8000 to Rs 10,000. This flight will be operated by Alliance Air. The Kumbh Mela flight will depart from Chandigarh at 4.30 pm on January 13 (every Monday) and reach Prayagraj at 6.44 pm. The return flight will depart from Prayagraj at 5.15 pm on January 15 (every Wednesday) and reach Chandigarh at 7.25 pm.

Alliance Air officials said the one-way fare for a passenger will be between Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000 as it falls under the flexi fare category. This flight will run from January 13 to February 26, in which the last flight will come from Prayagraj.
Railways running special train
Northern Railway has also started a train for Prayagraj as Kumbh Mela special train. This train will run from Amb Andaura and pass through Chandigarh. It will depart from Chandigarh on 17, 20, 25 January and 9, 15, 23 February and will return on 18, 21, 26 January and 10, 16, 24 February. Northern Railway has announced the operation of a Festival Special – Kumbh Mela Special train, which will connect Chandigarh with Prayagraj (Allahabad). Train No. 04528/04527, named Amb Andaura Kumbh Mela Special, running from Amb Andaura to Phaphamau Junction will run on January 17, leaving Amb Andaura at 10.05 pm and will reach Chandigarh at 1.05 am on January 18.
Train will stop at these stations
On the way this train will stop at Una, Nangal, Anandpur Sahib, Ropar and Morinda. It will depart from Chandigarh at 1.10 am and reach Phaphamau Junction in Prayagraj (Allahabad) at 6 pm on January 18. En route, this train will stop at Ambala, Yamunanagar, Saharanpur, Roorkee, Najibabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Lucknow and Rae Bareli and then reach Phaphamau Junction in Prayagraj (Allahabad). The train will start its return journey at 10.30 pm on January 18 and reach Chandigarh at 1.45 pm on January 19. There will be a total of 16 coaches in the train, which include AC coach, sleeper class coach and general class coach. It will have 6 AC coaches, 8 sleeper class coaches and two general coaches.
